    All,
This is the first Gym that I have been a part of that does fundraising beyond increasing dues! The ability for an organization to look beyond its own walls and contribute to the needs of others is a great testimony to the character of that organization, and the people within that organization. The character of Crossfit in general and Emerfit specifically is very impressive to me. I feel proud to be a part of this gym. Great job Chris, Jeff, Jessi, and Kitty for setting this up. Also great job to all those that competed and contributed.

    Outstanding Effort and Results,
    Chris McMahon

    Chris,

Thank you so much for the kind words. We really are trying to improve our community and change the world doing it. We are just getting started too.

There is a lot that goes into keeping things running at EmerFit but this is really all about you guys, our athletes. We teach you good mechanics and provide you opportunities to work hard with your new friends. In exchange we hope you help spread the word about authentic fitness and the way it changes lives.

    Thanks again for the feedback,
    Chris Brown

I agree, it was quite the honor. Now we all need to get out there and tell everyone we know how cool Emerfit is and how it has changed OUR lives so we can keep the dream alive. I think Chris M. hit the nail on the head. Chris B. has a great thing going here, something that I don’t know what I would do without, so we need to spread the word.

    Be well,
    Tracee Carroll

    I had a great time!
I have a DVD with the first two heats, I’ll bring it in later this week.

    Thanks Tracee!

For what its worth I am working on some new resources for all of you too use to help spread the word. I know sometimes it is difficult explaining what CrossFit is and how valuable being part of a CrossFit community can be.

For now I will leave you with this idea: It can be difficult to define and explain what we do at EmerFit but it is usually easy to find stories about how it impacts your life.

Speaking for myself, without a fitness program that really works, the support of a community of fellow athletes (you guys!), and all the coaching I have received from coaches across the country I do not know how I would have ever:

fit back into pants I wore in high-school (size 38 in 2004 and size 31 now),

dropped my cholesterol 50 points (from 222)

or had the confidence to take a bet on opening my own gym.

There is a story behind each of those and some of you have heard them.

When someone asks “So what is CrossFit?” We can all say “It is this really hard exercise program that changed my life because now I can XYZ. I would love to have my coach call you or email you if you are interested.”

    Thanks again for your support,
    Chris

Congrats to all who raised funds and competed for such an awesome fundraising event. Emerfit has so much heart and soul. The support from fellow athletes amazes me and is propelling each and everyone of us into a healthier and more fit lifestyle. Chris B. thanks for taking the challenge and opening Emerfit. I truly believe Emerfit is attracting the kind of athletes – those who want to form a strong, healthy and supportive community – because of your attitude and belief in all of us. Also, Jeff G. thanks for your coaching – please enough of the Burpees already (Thanks be to Eric). And Crystal, welcome. I am thrilled to see Emerfit prosper and am proud to be part of this community; to watch athletes grow in strength, endurance, confidence, etc. from the moment they walk through the doors is rewarding in itself.

I will add my vote that this was a great event with an amazing effort by everyone there.

In the three months I’ve been at this, the Saturday “special events” like FGB III and the CrossFit Total are by far my favorite parts of CrossFit.
