Food, Inc. is a must see! Dean and I saw it this weekend and would recommend everyone go see it – whether you are ready to make changes to food you eat or not. It is so important to know where our food comes from and many of us do not know. I got many important things from the movie. We will now be buying local, in-season produce (I am so used to just going into the grocery store and buying whatever fruit or veggies I want without thinking about if they are even in season). Dean and I are already looking into buying beef, chicken, buffalo from local farmers/ranchers and making sure the cows and buffalo are grass-fed (not corn fed) and chickens are free-range and on a vegetarian diet. We will be going to farmer’s markets as often as we can to support our local farmers.
Learned that corn is in everything! Even batteries and diapers. And how the food industry is ran by only a handful of companies and these companies take full advantage of their power and money in bad ways. They care more about bigger, better, faster, cheaper and less about us and our health, the animals, farmers/ranchers, etc.
Great movie that I would see again! So enlightening. After reading reviews and talking to those who have seen the movie it is apparent that everyone who sees it is inspired to change the way they eat and what they buy.
