Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why does this program have an extra fee?

This program will be customized to the specific participants and the overall goals of the program. This extra program design work and adjustments throughout the program requires extra work from the EmerFit staff. Furthermore, the EmerFit staff will be going to extra lengths to track participant’s results, review food logs, and provide extra nutritional guidance. Finally, extra practice sessions will be provided and there will be public recognition at the end of program of those who achieved the best results. Recognition will likely include prizes or awards, details to be announced at the start of the program.

2. How does this program differ from the regular EmerFit Workout of the Day? Don’t people lose weight doing the regular workouts too?

Yes, many people have lost significant amounts of weight with our regular WOD by coupling it with a sound nutrition plan. However, since the WOD is designed for a broad group with diverse goals it may not be the most efficient way to improve your body composition. Sure, you will get there eventually but you will get there faster with a program designed for fat loss.

Furthermore, we know that the often significant dietary changes required to effectively improve body composition often require more trainee education and social support. At times it may be difficult to obtain the necessary support in our regular classes.

If you have questions about what program might be best for you please speak with an EmerFit coach.

3. What if I want to stick with the regular WOD but do some sort of Paleo Challenge or Whole 30?

You can do that too but you won’t be part of this fat loss challenge. In fact, we will have a gym wide Paleo Challenge starting in January too. The nutrition program used in the Fat Loss Challenge will be a bit more strict and receive more attention from the EmerFit coaches. If you just want to “lean out”, have only a few pounds to loose, or just want to get back to eating good after the holidays then do the Paleo Challenge instead.

  1. Audrey says:

The Fort Collins Club offers hydrostatic fat measurement. Here is the details I copied from their website:

“Underwater, or hydrostatic, weighing helps you monitor your fitness progress by measuring your body’s percentage of fat. The club offers hydrostatic weighing, 7-8 am, on the first Saturday of each month, unless otherwise noted. Next weigh-ins: Dec. 4, Jan. 8, and Feb. 5. $5 for members/$10 for non-members. Sign up at the front desk. ”

However, I don’t believe they give you a formal “proof” of measurements. They just tell you the numbers. I had mine measured there 2 or 3 years ago….I was @38%….(YIKES)…

Just in case you want other options for cheaper price. :)
