This fall we will have several special programs happening at Emergent Fitness. We are happy to announce the first two:
- The Strength, Power, and Muscle Development Program
- The Olympic Lifting Program
Overview
Strength, Power, and Muscle Development Program
Similar to our previous Strength Programs the Fall 2011 program will be designed for those athletes who wish to dramatically improve their strength and power using a program designed for a group of athletes with similar goals.
Athletes will be expected to complete two or more lifts in 2-3 training sessions per week. Unlike our past strength programs the Fall’s program will begin with some muscle building (hypertrophy), progress to a strength focus, and then provide the option to finish up with additional strength work or switch to a power development emphasis. In addition, the this program will offer beginner and advanced versions.
Two versions of of the program will be available: a 2 session per week program and a 3 session per week program. Those using the 2 session per week program may choose to augment their program with a third session focused on conditioning by attending a regular EmerFit class.
Participants will be encouraged to consider competing in the 2011 Colorado State Powerlifting Championships (Bench, Squat, Deadlift) December 3-4 in Aurora.
Olympic Lifting
The Olympic Lifting program is designed for those athletes who wish to learn or improve in the Snatch, Clean, and Jerk. Participants in our Spring 2011 program recently competed in the Colorado State Games. This program will also have a beginner and advanced version. Beginners will be required to complete 1-2 private training sessions to learn the basic lifts of an Olympic Lifting program.
Participants in this program will be encouraged to consider competing in the 2011 Front Range Weightlifting Meet at Front Range CrossFit in mid-November (exact dates are TBA).
What Else Is New?
There are two other significant changes to the Fall programs:
- There will be a special Strength and Power Only Class on Tuesday and Thursday night at 6:30PM and at 10:00AM on Saturdays. This special class will give athletes the opportunity to get program specific coaching and interact with other athletes following the same program. Athletes are not required to attend the special classes and not attending does not change the cost of the program. Athletes may complete their training during regular class times with the exception of the 5:30PM class (see below).
- Participants in these programs will NOT be allowed to complete their training during the 5:30PM class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The gym is too busy at the time with those athletes completing the regular EmerFit training program.

Those who are wondering if these programs are right for them or who have other questions are encouraged to contact Chris or Jeff. You might also review the Frequently Asked Questions from the last Strength Program.
