Overview
Registration for the 2011 EmerFit Games is now open! This years competition will be one day only and will include a post-competition party with a concert by Fierce Bad Rabbit. As with past years, participants should expect at least one unusual event like last year’s max free throws with miniature basketballs. There will be mens, womens, and children divisions.
The event will be beginner friendly so if you have never competed in a CrossFit-style competition don’t fret but we do recommend that you have been doing strength and conditioning training for at least six months. You will be allowed to scale but you will need to complete the task within the given time limit.
Event Details
Opener Workout
The opener workout will involve sandbags, running, and a suprise. Sandbags will likely weigh 50 30-40 pounds for women and 80 50-75 pounds for men. Scaling down a size will be allowed.
Skill Tests
After all heats of the Opener Workout are complete athletes will have a set window of time to complete the tests listed below. Athletes will be allowed to choose in what order they complete the tests and how long they rest between events. All athletes must complete all tests before the first heat of the Championship Workout.
- Test #1: Row – It will be longer than a 500m and less than 5,000m
- Test #2: Max Strict Pull-Ups (Chin over)
- Test #3: Front Squat – A max for set reps. Number of reps to be announced later. More than 1, less than 10.
- Test #4: Jumping – Could be broad jump, vertical leap, max height box jump, or some combo.
- Test #5: To Be Announced After The Last Heat of the Open Workout
All tests other than the row will allow for scaling. Pull-ups will be scaled with bands.

0800 Doors open, athlete check-in and warm-up, volunteer briefing
0900 First Heat Starts
1100 End of final heat of Opener Workout
1100-3:00 Athletes complete “tests” in any order they wish
3:00-5:00 Championship Workout Heats
5:00 Socializing
6:00-7:00 Award announcements and concert starts
9:00 or 10:00 Doors Close
Possible Movements and Prescribed Loads
The table below shoes the max loads we might prescribe. We might use light weights in some workouts. The only time we will go higher is in a max test (e.g. a 1 rep max deadlift). If a movement is listed as “no” in the table below we will not use it in the games. If it say “yes” then we might and then again we might not. The table is meant to give you an idea what you might encounter in the games. You will likely see things that are not listed in this table.
